Hello

I'm trying to send a database object (Report, etc.) as an attachment using
the Send To command in the File menu (and the SendObject macro command), but
I continue to get the following error:

"Microsoft Access can't open the mail session; check your mail application
to make sure that it's working properly"

To verify that it was not a problem with Outlook Express, I executed the
same command in both Word and Excel 2000, and I encountered no problems. I
then attempted to do a "detect and repair" from the Help menu using the
original Office2000 disc. It claimed that it had completed successfully, but
the problem persists.

I have typed the exact error message into the KB as well as google, but I've
found nothing pertaining to this problem. There is a similar problem for
ACC97 on a Win98 OS, and I attempted that solution. Unfortunately, it asks
to delete a registry entry that was not there. Perhaps there is a registry
entry that exists for Word and Excel that somehow was corrupted in Access.

Any insight to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Ask them in office.setup or access groups.

Thanks for your advice. I already tried the access group, and they pointed
me to you. I'll give the office.setup a shot.

I just reread. It might be wanting to use Outlook. You might try setting up
your mail in Outlook rather than OE

Thanks for taking the extra time!

When I installed Office2000, I did not install Outlook because I was
satisfied with Outlook Express. If that is the problem, does it make sense
that the command works normally in Word and Excel, but not in Access?
