How is it possible that Microsoft cannot keep us logged in to this site more
than a few minutes?
And then every post or response brings back a screen 10 minutes later from
the world's slowest server to verify the post before it actually goes through.

Haven't we passed through the 19th century yet?

we don't have a problem.

so there might be a remote
possibility that it is not the
world that has the issue.

Do you use a web interface? If yes then it would be time
for you to move into the 21st century and use a newsreader
such as Outlook Express. No timeout there, near-instant
response on all posts in any thread.

So you are saying that they can program for good servers and parts of the
world, but their programers cannot handle anything less than that? Not the
real world?

Pegasus has given you the short answer - use a real newsreader instead
of the dreadful, clunky web interface. Here are details to help you with
this:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you
learn to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows,
but you can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you
already have it. Here are some links to information about newsgroups:

Looking at your headers:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000

This tells me youare using the Newsgroup Web Interface. It's old, it's
clunky, its unreliable and it has given trouble to thousands before you and
will give trouble to thousands after you.

It is my suggestion to you *not* to attempt to view these websites through
that out-dated/under-featured interface and to use a newsreader application
instead. Even if it is nothing more than Outlook Express - you will have a
better experience using that than you ever will using the web page interface
that is setup.

Setting up Outlook Express Newsreader

If you want to search for older posts than you may choose to keep on your
computer...

Slight correction: "...you to move to the 20th Century and use a
newsreader..."

That also applies to the 21st century which we have been in for
several years.

I use the web interface, and have not had ANY timeout issues.

Yes, but I distinctly remember using a newsread in the last century...
