Hi everyone

I'm at wit's end. I have a dell server running windows 2000 server. On
the windows 2000 server I have a folder named Virginia. I can map to
this folder without any problem. However when I try to add files or
unzip a zip file located there (in the Virginia folder) I am greeted
with the "access denied" message that also says I don't have the rights
to do same.

I have granted permission to user A giving him full control (pretty much
administrative rights) of the folder so that he can write and execute.
However user A cannot share the file fully when he maps to it. He gets
this message. What gives?

There's a little wrinkle. The "Virginia" folder is located in
//inet/wwwroot folder. Is this a problem?

Thanks in advance

There are two sets of permissions to check: File system and Share.

File System permissions take precedence over Share permissions. Thus a user
with Full share permissions must also have the same permissions for the File
System.

File System permissions are found on the Security tab of the folder
Properties dialog.

Share Permissions are found by pressing the Permissions button on the
Sharing tab of the folder Properties dialog.
