ABSOLUTE FONT SIZE

I know the subject of "Absolute Text Size" has been discussed and
debated but I need to make the TEXT SIZE on serveral websites
constant, regardless of browser view settings. I don't wish to
discriminate, just buy some time until I can re-design the sites to
handle the changing text sizes Currently, when viewed in a larger
text size than designed, it is a mess...text overlapping text and
images.

If you know of a simple way to accomplish this (other than converting
text to graphics) I would be VERY grateful for your help. I've designed
several FREE websites for non-profit groups and need to correct these
problems.

HEARTFELT THANKS,

And be very careful about not using any absolute positioning.
Why not write good CSS file for each of the problem sites, make the changes
and then just keep at it until the sites are corrected ... rather than do a
work-around. In the long run that will save you time!

Sorry - you cannot fix the size of fonts in a web page, unless you
use images for the text.
Take a look at www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/ems-percent.htm in
Internet Explorer, and change the font size. It would appear that
some text does stay fixed. Now repeat the exercise in Firefox, or
Netscape (any version), or Opera... All the text changes size.
Add to that, consider the IE menu options - Tools->Internet Options -
General tab
Click the Accessibilty button, and think about the checkboxes on that
dialogue.
