Hello,

I have a problem with my XP Pro laptop freezing at or just after startup. It
does not happen every time but I often have to power off and try restarting a
3 or 4 times before I get it to run without locking up. When I look in event
viewer I see a lot of these errors turning up. Could this be the problem? I
am not sure what it is:
----------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000
Date: 11/16/2004
Time: 10:12:02 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SPEEDY-POS
Description:
The ABS PortIO Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
---------------------
Can you help me out at all? I am at a loss so far.
Thank you very much.
