Hi there,

I've just downloaded AbiWord v2.2.10 and I can't get any dictionary to
install.

Any help would be most welcome please?

John.

I am no expert in Abiword so there may be better ways to do it, but
here's what I found so far.

To check the occasional document:
Select all the text in your document (ctrl-A). Click Tools | Set
Language, choose a language, then check the box "make default for
document". The spell checker then looks at the dictionary file for
that language.

The alternative is to change your Windows operating system "locale"
setting to an alternate language in Control Panel. This makes Abiword
spell-check in that language, but it also changes Abiword's menus and
prompts to that language, so you'd better be a fluent reader!
