Is there a list on the internet (or from you) that shows what all those
abbreviations mean in msconfig? Some of them I know not wheather to uncheck
or not, one person said to uncheck them all.

The only abbreviations in MSCONFIG are
DOS filepaths, e.g. instead of
c:\Longnamelike this
c:\Longna~1

Because these abbreviate filepaths, you
need no list of their meanings.

The listings in msconfig are cryptic and often difficult to understand. See
if the information on the following link will help.
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...s/tasklist.htm

You can uncheck all the boxes without effect on the OS, however, there may
be applications you want to run at boot. Depending on what you have
installed, these could include video, sound, or other controls, etc. Turn
off the ones you recognize that you don't want and go through the others,
one at a time and see if everything still works. If something doesn't work,
simply recheck it.
