Abbreviated Start->Programs menu?

I use classic Start Menu setting for Vista Home Premium 32-bit - just a
preference.

When I do Start->Programs, I get EVERYTHING on the menu;instead of an
abbreviated list of the recently used programs, with the double down arrow
at the bottom to give me the option of showing everything. How can I change
this behavior to get the abbreviated list?

Personalized Menus (Intelli menus) introduced in Windows 2000 are not
supported in Windows Vista.

Actually they are supported in Vista. I have the opposite problem.
In classic view, home premium, 32-bit my Start->Programs comes up
with an abbreviated mode with the double arrow at the bottom. I want
to see the whole list and not the shortened version that I have to
expand.

Hi,

Go into the start menu properties and re-enable personlized menus. Right
click the taskbar and choose properties to start, go to the start menu tab
and click customize. The personalize option will be the last one in the list
of options.

"The personalize option will be the last one in the list
of options."

Actually, its NOT for the "Start Menu" choice, but IS
on the "Classic Start Menu" choice, which I use. And on
mine, it's already checked.

The originator of the thread clearly stated that they were using the classic
menu. Had they been using the Vista style, I would have responded
differently.
