Is it true that the PCIe 1x slots are disabled if you are using both
x16 slots in an SLI configuration? Naturally, I bought this board
with the intention of using SLI. I'd also like one of the new
Soundblaster Zenith cards which are PCIe. But I heard that I couldn't
use the 1x slots if both x16 slots are being used. Can anyone confirm
this?

There was nothing in the manual to say this.

In "single video card mode", the first video slot acts as 16x, and the
second video slot acts as a 1x. When put into SLI mode, both video slots
act as 8x. I've seen no reference to the two 1x dedicated slots being
disabled when in SLI mode.

If you put a 6800Ultra, or any dual-slot video card, in the primary video
slot, you will block one of the dedicated 1x PCIe slots...

The x1 slots will work just fine, either using just one PCIe graphics
card or in SLI. The lanes to the x1 slots are not affected by the SLI
setup. You will have a problem installing a card in the first x1 slot
when the first PCIe slot has a graphics card with a rather big cooling
solution (like mine), as this will block it.
