I see that the Asus A8N-SLI mb supports DDR 333/400/433/466/500/533/550/600
speeds. In compairing DDR-400 and DDR-550 RAM bandwidth I see a 1.2 GB/sec
difference (3.2 vs 4.4 GB/sec DDR-400/550). Have you used the faster ram in
the a8n-sli with current hardware?

The results have to be corrected, for the difference in
processor core clock.

(2701/2809)*33 seconds = 31.7 , so the memory bandwidth is making
a difference.

Always be careful on systems like this, with SATA connected
drives, as there have been reports of SATA problems with a
certain level of overclock. The most conservative approach,
is to use an old IDE drive, while operating in the more
extreme sets of conditions.

I was not going to OC, just use the speeds available in the BIOS for the
memory clock rate. So, if I have PC-3200 it would be set to that or PC-4200
for that ram. I would think Asus was smart enough that this would not OC the
SATA portion, just bump up the memory clock rate for faster ram (or, to
intentionally OC your ram -which I will not do).
