The A7V8X-X motherboard specification says:

"3 x DDR DIMM Sockets
Max. 3 GB unbuffered PC2100 / PC1600 non-ECC SDRAM Memory
(PC3200 Max. to 2 banks only / PC2700 Max to 4 banks only)"

How much memory can I have if I buy 512 MB PC2700 RAM? I don't
understand what "3 x DDR DIMM Sockets" is supposed to mean vs
"PC2700 Max to 4 banks only".

/Martin

512MB of PC2700 Ram will work just fine. This question has come up before so
search the ng for a more complete answer. It has to do with the banks of
memory chips on the stick of memory as opposed to the memory 'slots' on the
MB.
