I bought an A7V600 about a year ago. Everything was running fine until
a couple of days ago, when the system started re-booting itself. I am
suspicious of temperature problems. ASUS Probe is reporting MB temp at
46/114 and CPU at 71.5/160. The BIOS monitor is reporting the same.
Are these temps in the problematic range?

Very problematic, I have an A7V600-X and my temps are 32C for the processor
(3200+ Barton) and 30C for the MB with and that's in Florida with a room
temp of 70F even under full load my system never goes over 44C

You might want to concider more case fans and a better heatsink on your
processor, also use Artic silver when you put the new heatsink on, Arctic
Silver 5 is best, but AS3 or ceramique will work in a pinch.

Yes, Athlon motherboards/CPUs tend to lockup, reboot, etc.
when the CPU temp gets to ~65C. We are a dealer and have
seen it happen to PCs here. Open the case and make sure that
the heatsink fan isn't too dusty and is running at full speed.

Asus probe show 53 for cpu and 35 for MB on my A7V600 witha AMD 2600+
processor and standard issue fan. room temp is about 25 I run with the case
open though cause I'm always pulling stuff. Never had any problems. I don't
game and my guess isthe average cpu load is about 3%
