I installed Windows XP Professional on the above system. I installed the
drivers on the Asus CD to get USB, Video, Network properly identified.
However, I still get "pci memory controller" showing up with a question mark
in device manager, under "other devices".

Any suggestions?

Note quite sure if its the same (i assume it is) but on my asus board, i
also have to load drivers
for my motherboard chipset (i875P) as memory control is a function of this
chipset, perhaps you
have to load whichever chipset drivers your board uses.

Which is nForce2 IIRC, there should be something on your install CD's
autorun menu on the first
page regarding these drivers.
