Athlon 2800+ (Barton, 333MHz)
2 X 256 - Corsair PC3200 twin (CL2)

Current config: FSB=200, Mult=11, mem=100%
CPUID says: internal clock=2205, sys clock=200.45, sys bus=400.91,
cache=2205

The MB allows FSB of 333 & 400.

A possible setup (not tried yet) would be: FSB=333, Mult=7, Mem=60%. Giving
(in theory) internal clock = 2331, sys clock=333, sys bus=399.6

Any advantage to such a configuration?

It would seem the increased FSB is only an advantage if memory can run at
the same speed. Is my thinking about this correct or am I missing
something?

Thanks for any thoughts!

FSB333 is actually 166 times that by 7 and you have 1162 chip speed
remember with DDR you double the FSB..........your Barton chip is running at
200 thats 34 more than normal. You try to move the FSB to 333 and you definitly
will NOT be booting!!

Ok - I see where my thinking went wrong. By using manual frequency instead
of the FSB settings, I need to double the external frequency to get the FSB
frequency. Using the FSB setting instead, the actual clock speed is 1/2 the
FSB setting.

I were to use the FSB setting of 400 I would actually have the same setting
I now have using the manual external freq. of 200. Using an FSB of 333 would
actually slow me down quite a bit (17% or so).

Thanks,
