Have been using one seagate 120GB sata drive....when I installed a second
identical drive the computer will not boot. HD, cables, and power check out
OK.

I'm currently running two of these. One of the 2 that I got from NewEgg
a couple weeks ago didn't fly. Same symptom. The drive was identified
in the SATA BIOS Extension but that was it. Use Seagate's Seatools disk
to completely check it out or you can download it from their website, if
need be. There may be bad spots on the disk that lock the system up.
If so RMA it. They really go in easy when they work!

Thanks for your reply...........checked out the drive with seatools and it
showed OK........I booted once and it was OK but the second time I booted,
the computer shut down. I'm now thinking I am underpowered. When I hook
just that second HD to a spare power supply, everything is fine. Right now
I have a 430W........next step would be a 550W. Specs
are......a7n8x-Deluxe, 2500 AMD Barton, 1GB Crucial RAM, All in Wonder 9600
128 MB video, Sony DVD Rom, HP DVD RW, Netgear wireless PCI card, wireless
usb keyboard and mouse, photo printer, floppy, 3 fans, front temp display
and light sticks. Now that I've written all this down, I think I have
answered my own question but any input is appreciated

Sounds like your right. I know when I added the 2 SATA's, I had to bump
up. Went from a Generic 400w to a Antec TruePower 480w because of the
same symptom but your running more gear than I am so the 550w may be
appropriate. I think the info on the web says the Seagates need 12w
when their first spinning up.
