A7N8x deluxe and sata

Hi,
I just purshased an ide/sata adaptator to connect an old ide drive to the
sata, On windows xp everything works fine but if i try to copy several files
to the disk, the system hang for a long time
Any idea?

What BIOS are you using?

What Drivers are you using?

I recommend at least BIOS 1004, and the .32 Drivers

I'be already installed 1007 bios, i tried to download the drivers from your
site but the archive seems to be corrupted and don't open

Thats odd I've just downloaded it and it extracts in both WinAce and WinRar
for me... anybody else had problems?

Ok i destroyed the downloaded file and download it again and it worked but i
still have the same problem
any idea?

When you say it hangs for a long tme, do you mean it won't accept any user
input? Like from the mouse/keyboard? What about the num lock light, does
that operate in thse periods of hang?

I can't really think of any particular reason for that type of problem...
it's a bit strange.

the mouse can move and i can use other programs for another few seconds and
then nothing but the mouse and i must hard reboot

Very odd indeed. I would go for a full driver reinstall... boot to safe
mode, remove ALL devices from device manager (about 5 top-level devices will
remain) and then reboot. It's fairly drastic, but might work.

Otherwise a repair install of Windows might be easier for you and should
achieve the same task in "less dangerous" manner.
