Really? I couldn't find that on 3Coms website.

And what I don't get is that the device is called a "3Com 3C920B-EMB" in
device manager, but the driver is 90x (rather than 9x0), which is
inconsistant.

3Coms website has mention of a "3C920B-VIA", but not an EMB.

I just downlaoded the file above from the Asus website and accepted that it
worked and that I couldn't find an updated driver.

Really? Seems funny that they would create a driver disk for a product that
has not yet been released, and with drivers on it dated at least a year in
the future.

Ben,

Don't know if it's of any interest but here's "The Rest of the
Story"....The 3C90x1 driver from the 3Com site is the correct driver to
use. That package (it's 3Com90xv54 after expanding) has the driver for
the 3C920B interface which has been specifically used by "VIA" and has
also been "EMB"edded into other chip makers South bridges. 3Com's
interface is used for Media Access Control and is paired with an
external AC101L E-Net Controller by Broadcom (Altima). The
driver/Technology is a few years old! A similar technology is used for
the Nvidia port.

Yeah... I found out the other day (yesterday, maybe) that that package seems
to be the same version as whats available on Asus website, but about half
the size. It seems that the 90x driver does also support the 920B as you
say - but there are no newer drivers than 5.4 so thats that.

Cheers,
