I currently have an A7M266 with two sticks of 256MB of PC2100. This
board only has 2 DIMM slots so in adding additional memory sticks can
I replace one of the 256MB sticks with a 512 MB stick and not cause
a conflict? Or will I have to replace both sticks of 256MB?

Second question - If I can add only the one 512MB stick, do I have to
place the sticks in any certain order -ie the 512MB stick in slot 1
and the 256MB stick or some other specific configuration?

The DIMMs can be of different size and brand, yes.

No particular order is needed.

Just make sure that you get the correct speed of RAM. You don't want to get
a module that's a lower speed than the ones that you have in your computer
right now. (Higher is okay though.) Otherwise, there should not be a
problem in doing this.
