Nforcershq.com forum states that you can maintain dual memory with 2 x 256
and 1 x 512 if they are placed in certain slots, where 2 of the slots are
1channel and the other slot is the 2nd channel.
The FAQ in the above forum says how to obtain Dual memory, the problem is
what they say does not match what i have????????
My memory is configured as follows :
1 x 512Mb in BLUE memory slot
2 x 256 MB in the 2 black slots.
Is this correct for dual memory??? (Nforcershq.com forum say i should see 2
blue slots and 1 black)
TIA
Jon

1 black and two blue.
1 and 2 for dual or 1 and 3 for dual.
put 512 in slot 1 and 256 in 2 and 3.
Regardless of slot color slot 1 is one channel, then a gap and slot 2 and 3
are the 2nd channel.
So you need 512 in one channel (1), and 512 made up of 256x2 in channel 2.

Channel one is slot 1and there is a space between 2 and 3.
channel two is slot 2 and slot 3 is also channel 2.
slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 3 for dual.

Some boards have all black, some have 1 black and 2 blue, some may have i
blue and 2 black....who knows...

From the cpu socket moving to the right put in 1st slot 256mb then the other
256mb
and in the 3rd slot closest to the IDE connectors put the 512mb stick and
you'll have
dual channel. HTH...Trapper

Try it, you'll get Dual Channel with any combination.

But I suggest balancing the RAM quantity between banks, which will require
the 512 in slot 3 (furthest from the CPU) and the 256s in the other slots.
