_spawnlpe

has anyone experienced a problem with
_spawnlp not consulting the PATH environment variable
when executing processes.

I have a situtation where just this seems to happen.
I have to be explicit when specifying the location of the
executable I am wanting to execute.

Yes, I've checked that my PATH variable is set up
correctly.

This is under Windows2000.

Thoughts appreciated.
