Can anyone tell me whether I need the folder _sharedtemplates in my web?

Can I delete it in frontpage?

I ask because I don't think I'm using shared templates, but I have this
folder - probably from when I was experimenting in the early days. And
according to my webstats, there are some erroneous entries in there
generating 404 errors.

When I open said file in frontpage, it shows an early version of my site
which is no longer in use.

Thanks
Michael
