After placing several files in the _private folder, I am still able to
browse to them by simply entering the URL in the address bar of IE. I was
expecting to be blocked. Am I missing something here?

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Robert

Do you mean the web on your own machine by using
C:\path-to-web\foldername\_private

If so that's normal, if you mean your live web on a server, have your host
set the correct permissions for the _private folder.

Or do it yourself if your host allows it.

Thanks for the reply, Steve. I did mean live web on a server. I found my
provider's control page where I set the permissions and everything is rosy
now.

Thanks again, Robert
