For some reason, 47 of my 50 programs in my "Add/Remove Programs" list no
longer have a "Remove" button, so there is no way I can initiate an
uninstall for them!

Has anyone else had this problem?

What could cause this?

I see that each entry is listed in the registry at
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Currentversion\installer\userdata\[some 5-14-78-45
key], and each entry does have a "Uninstall String" assigned to it, but why
doesn't windows display a "Remove" button for them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the info - I will keep it on file for future use...

Unfortunately, it wont work with my problem because the 47 of the 50 entries
of "Programs" that are listed are not in the registry path mentioned in the
article on that site:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

Instead, all the apps with the missing buttons are in this registry path on
my PC:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-17\Products

So, for some reason the Add/remove applet is looking in this regkey and
getting a list of all these apps with missing buttons, but it is not
displaying the buttons for some reason
