IBM Thinkpad runs r-e-a-l slow. Task manager indicates that System PID #8 absorbs 99% of resources. Have not used laptop for a year or so until yesterday. The physical box seems OK but maybe that's the problem. Anyway, I've rebooted about 6 times, eliminated old files and cleared caches on IE, which has done nothing. Any ideas
Thanks
Craig

We'll actually need to see what PID 8 is on your system. Can you dump a
display of your task manager here?

Simple answer would be to download and run Ad-Aware and kill what is
probablyt manl-ware on your system.
