Hi,
I used to be able to open .sgf files (Smart Go Format, using
Jago, cGoban or MultiGo) from hyperlinks.
Recently, a strange problem appeared: I could no longer
"hyperlink open" .sgf files from a specific site #1
(
http://www.dragongoserver.net/show_games.php?uid=3243 , use
guest/guest if unable to log in).
The strange thing is I can still open the same type of file
from another site (#2) that presents the files differently:
http://kgs.kiseido.com/en_US/gameArc...Num=1&user=axd
The only apparent difference is site #1 provides access to
..sgf files via a php? request link, while site #2 hyperlinks
directly to .sgf files.
To investigate the problem, I turned on "Confirm Open after
Download" and discovered a strange behaviour.
What seems to happen is the file is effectively (!)
downloaded in the TIF (Temporary Internet Folder) while the
confirmation dialog waits for an Open/Save selection, but as
soon as Open is selected, the file is removed from the TIF
and the application reports it cannot find the file.
Selecting a hyperlink from site#2 normally opens the file,
and it stays in the TIF.
I'm not sure but this strangely smells like a problem
related to the inability to download zip
files(
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308090)
I emptied the TIF; index.dat is not read-only; moved the TIF
location
Anybody sees a solution? Thx,
-alex-
