Stock heatsink fan is dying noisy and slow. Already took out and cleaned
with air and contact cleaner. Just bought this item from Antec called a
Vcooler. It takes up the PCI slot next to card and blows outside air onto
card. I was thinking of removing the stock fan completely and just letting
the new fan blow direclty on the heasink and mem chips. The stock fan on
that card is pretty weak to begin with. Any thoughts?

Don't really know, but the one slot fan I tried sounded
like Whistlers Mother.

The stock fan at this point is probably just impeding airflow more than
anything else. Remove the fan and reattach the heat sink with new thermal
paste. The Antec Vcooler will do the job.
