I personally believe you'd get more benefit from the faster and more
robust 9800 than you would get from the extra ram. By the time anything
really *needs* 256MB of video ram, the 9600 will probably be too slow to
run it, anyway. ;-)

The 9800 will be noticeably faster in modern games, provided your CPU can
keep up... The RAM is unlikely to be missed.

I have the ATI9600XT..shortly after I bought it the 9800Pro's dropped in
price...personally I'd go for the Pro..I wish I had ...don't get me
wrong..the 9600XT is an awesome card..but for the same money I could have
had a 9800Pro.

The 9800 Pro has 256-bits memory bus with faster memory coupled to it.
Also the GPU runs much faster.

So this is a no brainer!

9800 Pro, without question.
Most games today won't make good use of the extra 128 mb of ram, however the
extra horspepower from the 9800 will be nice, assuming you have a fairly up
to date cpu.
