9700 PRO Power Cable/Connector Question

Do you have to use ATI supplied "Y" power cable on the 9700 pro? It looks
like the same type of connector that plugs into the floppy drive and I have
an extra one of those availed from my PS. The type of connector and the
wire colors seem the same. Just thought I'd ask some of you more
experienced ATI users before I did it.

TIA

It's the same thing... they give you the Y adapter for more distance and an
extra connector, just in case.
