I'm looking at buying either a 9600pro or nonpro for my system:

k7s5a 3.1 (AGP x4)
athlon xp 1700+
512Mb pc2100

I'd like to know if i would see much performace difference between the
cards or will my processor/ram bottleneck the pro card too much to
make the extra money for the pro a good investment.
I'm thinking along the lines of the effect in this article

where it would seem that its very possible that with my processor it
will seriously limit the ability of the card.

do you ever plan to upgrade the CPU/MB of your machine? If so then upgrade proof your video end of things for awhile, I don't think
you'll notice -benchmarks(with your eyes and brain), any bottleneck...
