Hiya all,

Just played this game through on my XP2800+, Sapphire 9600 Pro, 1gig 3200
Ram home build PC on high settings and thought it was great.

A friend has just bought his first PC and I'd like to recommend the game to
him but I dont want to look a prat if it runs dog-rough. Does any one out
there have a similar spec and can you tell me what it runs like please.

His PC is an E-machines with 2.8 Intel Celeron, 512 DDR Ram and a 128meg
ATI9200. Well over the spec on the box but we all know the actual game and
the specs dont necessarily match.... :-)

Many thanks, Shaun

I have a 9700 Pro and I can't get it smooth at that resolution.

Also bear in mind that there is an issue with Far Cry that was fixed
with the new drivers. See:

it'll default to 1024x768x32 and all settings to LOW.
it'll be playable.

Don't need to have a simular machine....

His First PC is not a gaming system... It very low end. Go to
www.tomshardware and www.anandtech.com

The 9800 is about twice the card over the 9600 - the new X800 are
50~180% faster over the 9800s!

But the 9200 is very slow, fine for desktop, but it maybe 1/4 speed of
your 9600. My 9800Pro is all on SUPER HIGH settings.

The 2.8Ghz Celeron is a dog... it's slower than a 1.2Ghz AMD CPU from
3 years ago.

He should get his money back if he plans to PLAY GAMES made in 2002
and newer.

An AMD 2500 with a $200 ATI 9800Pro will kick ass... but will cost
about $600~700.

Remember: In the USA - it is illegal to draw or write about Heir Bush in a negative way. The police or SS are called.

15yr old boy in Washington was disciplined for drawing such images.

God bless the land of the free. Where you can burn the Constitution... Ashcroft does it every day.
