Hi,

Was trawling the latest prices on Graphics card for the last PC i will ever build for someone else when i found this.....

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...)%20-%20Retail

Only 256MB of memory but at £47 absolute bargain, anone looking for a cheap performance upgrade then you can't go wrong with that.

Not available yet, but soon and i imagine they are gonna sell real quick.

A review of a similar card with the same speeds so you can judge performance..

Thanks WF

Do you think this is the best buy for under £50 at the moment? I'm looking for a budget gaming card to recommend to a friend, and this was my first suggestion. I've had one of these for a while, and it runs everything I throw at it

Have been looking around the last couple of days, as i said for a build for a mate of mine and i can't find anything that comes close for the price.

£56 Delivered absolute bargain, in the review i attached its only 4 FPS slower than a 512mb at lower resolution, but i imagine it would start to struggle at higher resolutions as it don't have the memory.

Other good buys i have found on On OCUK are;

ATI 2900GT (256MB) is £56 delivered
Nvidia 8800GT (512MB) is £83 delivered
ATI HD 3870 XT(512MB) is £77 delivered (about 10% - 15% faster than 8800GT)

The 2900GT is very similar to the 8800GT, depends on who you prefer really, although it does run hot and eats lots of power.

8800GT wins for under £50.

Hope this helps.

Hey Ian,

Dunno if your mate picked a card yet but i found this, HD 3850 Pro, is £54 but has 512MB memory, is the Pro version and will probably beat the 8800GT if he games at slightly higher Resolution.
