64 MB USB drive

After I used the drive, I left it on the computer and
turned off the computer in normal way. On the following
day, I switched on the computer as usual and tried to
open some files in the USB drive. I got an error message
saying the drive is not formatted. It seems all data in
the USB drive has been erased. Can someone tell me the
possible cause and any way I can restore the data.
