Hi I have the 6.1 MSN messenger.
The only problem I have since installing it, is with very
slow speeds when sending and receiving a file. (it crawls)

Voice is fine so whats wrong with 6.1?

This did not happen when we all (friends) had Windows 4.7
messenger.

Please any one know why this is or what causes this
slowness? and can they tell me how to fix it please?

Sending and receiving files in MSN Messenger 6.1 is drastically changed from Windows
Messenger 4.x. If a direct connection between you and your contact can't be established, it
will attempt to actually send the file directly through the Messenger server (albeit slowly).
Also, a direct connection continues to try to be established as the transfer via server
continues, and if it can, will switch to that.

If you could send/receive files probably via Windows Messenger 4.x, then something else
must've changed (perhaps you or your contact have turned on the Internet Connection
Firewall?).
