Could someone tell me how to get my modem to connect at
more than 26.4, I have tried everything I know to do.

Have you ever connected at a higher speed ?

If you have the corrrect drivers for your modem, the problem may be having
other devices on the line such as an answering machine, fax, etc. or simply
a poor telephone line to your house.

Also talk with your ISP. There may be alternative phone #s that have
modems more capatible with yours.
