As of a few days ago, suddenly left clicking on a link
does nothing. Right clicking and choosing "Open" or "Open
in a new window" does nothing. Right clicking and
choosing "Copy Shortcut", and then pasting it into the
address box works every time. Attempting to access the IE6
SP1 download gives me a 403 Forbidden Error.

I have run Ad-aware and Spybot, nothing found. There are 2
Browser Helpers running, one from Adobe and one from
Symantec. I have tried disabling ZoneAlarm and Norton AV.,
another PC on my LAN works fine so Im assuming its not
router settings(which are defaults anyway). This setup has
not been deliberately changed in months.

Wierd......

I know this isn't any help...but exactly the same thing happened to me
about 4 months ago - and I'm running on a similar setup by the sound
of it. Home network behind a router, Zonealarm, AVG anti-virus, with
one PC working (W98, IE5), one not (W2K, IE6). I got round it by using
Netants - an adware download manager. It works great, although some of
the ads are annoying if you have your speakers on!

I'm very interested to see if anyone comes up with an answer to this
one.

Russ.
