I just started in this office. There are 5 workstations but only one general
e-mail address for the office. Currently, Outlook is set up w/ the same info
on each one, but that unfortunately means that everyone is downloading the
same info and nobody knows if a particular e-mail has been addressed unless
they check with everyone else. We have a flagging system figured out to use,
but that only shows up on the individual computer, of course. Is there a way
to have all workstations look at the same outlook.pst and have it still
available to have open on each? We have licenses for each 'puter, so
licensing shouldn't be a problem.

The short answer is no. There ARE methods of "sharing" a pst file, but I'm
not sure they work very well. May I ask why there is only one email address
between five workstations?

Hello Auntie Boo,
Please be more specific.

If you are connected to exchange server , there is an option where you can
access others ost file or only Inbox in particular - provided permissions are
set.
pst files cannot be shared through network.

Or

Create rules to move specific e-mails to folders and provide access to the
respecitive person to access only those folders.

The outlook.pst file cannot be shared, niether is it advised to access a pst
over a network, as corruption often follows.
There are various methods of syncing, but that wont address your fundemental
issue of who deals with which msg

If Outlook 2003 or earlier, you could try setting up a simple Microsoft Mail server to distribute mail to 5 internal addresses - not recommended but it sounds like you are on a budget.

I just started here, so I don't know a whole lot about why, but I know it is
a general info address that includes stuff that any person who reads the
e-mail can take care of. They just don't have any way to know if someone
else already took care of it without asking everyone. Is it possible to link
everyone else's outlook to the office manager's outlook (i.e. everyone has
their own personal folder, but they can also access hers to see what is
flagged for who) but she can still have her own outlook open and usable?
