I can't format a new 5 1/4 floppy disk in XP. It is
apparently not an option in XP except from a command
prompt and then all I got was a 160KB format. Is it just
not possible?? Can someone please tell me how to format
my disks??

Try using the /t:tracks and /n:sectors options.

Only 1.44MB 3.5 inch floppy diskettes are supported directly in XP.
