The newsgroup you are trying to post to requires username/password
authentication. One of the ways you will encounter this error is if you
change ISP's and are trying to access the old ISP's news server using your
new ISP's network connection.

Also, some ISP's (such as my sbcglobal.net) require that you authenticate
regardless. To do so, click Tools -> Accounts -> [select your news server
account] -> Properties -> Server tab. Click the "This server requires me to
log on" box and then enter your full email address and password in the
appropriate boxes. If it still doesn't work, contact your news server
provider for required configuration data.
