Ok, in reading some of the posts here, I think I'll try a mail merge and see
if that helps. I got four pages of a list of folks who didn't get the
newsletter.

Maybe the mail merge will work - does that bypass any restrictions from my
isp?

SECOND QUESTION - I have about four different distribution lists for this
client. Some of the emails are duplicated (they have people sign a book and
those people are signing up more than once, so they get entered into another
distribution list = argh!).

IS there a way to combine these lists and unduplicate?

THANKS!!

"does that bypass any restrictions from my isp?"
Depends on your agreement with your ISP. Contact them directly if you are
not sure.

"IS there a way to combine these lists and unduplicate?"
Depends on how the list is created and maintained. If an Outlook DL than you
can nest all the lists in a new DL and the mail server wll usually filter
out the duplicates.

ok - cool.

I'll try nesting - I created the lists directly in Outlook - can you
"un-nest" them after unduplicating?

I haven't investigated the errored- emails to see if they're all in one DL.
Would be interesting to see if they're all in the largest DL or in separate
DLs.

Thanks!

No, as your DLs will still be the same. The mail server will only detect
that you are using the same address twice in a single batch and will drop
the multiple messages. However, if it actually does this depends on the
server software and/or settings. You could try it for yourself by putting
your own name in the To field twice.

oh, so when you nest, you're actually creating a new big list?

Yikes. There's got to be an easier way! LOL!! Oh well... at least the
recipients won't get three emails from me!

I saw that there are some add-in products available, but I'd rather not go
there...

thanks again!
