I know you mentioned losing the date part of the tooltip
pop-up, you can expand your toolbar to three high,
instead of the normal 1 and the whole date will appear in
the taskbar, if you are concerned about losing space on
your desktop, you can auto hide the taskbar

Thanks for the reply. Since I have changed the 99Luftballoons to white and
a smaller font, I am living with this problem. Along with the other problems
that seem to be inherent with XP. I have a running list named Screwed up XP.txt
in a folder named ERRORS. This also has all time favorites like; DCOM Event ID
10005.txt and VSS Event ID 8193.txt.
If XP did not have so many problems, sites like Kelly's Korner wouldn't have
so many fixes available. ;o) Having moved up from Windows 98, I do like the
fact that XP doesn't crash all the time. I guess you have to pay something to
get something.
