I just installed and setup 3ware 7410 RAID controller on my Soyo Dragon+
mobo and I am more than underwhelmed, I am very disappointed.

My system:
Soyo Dragon+ w/AMD Athlon 2100+, 1GB RAM
2x60GB IBM drives in RAID0 using mobo RAID controller, boot disk
4x80GB Maxtor drives in RAID5 using 3Ware 7410 controller
Windows XP Pro

I installed Windows driver 1.13.0.30, updated the firmware to
1.05.00.056 and installed 3DM 1.13.00.028.

Before I could copy 1gb file from a partition to a different partition
under 60 seconds.

Now it takes up to 6 minutes to copy 1gb file from a non-3Ware drive to
the 3Ware RAID5 partition.

I was expecting an increase in performance, not a decrease by a factor
of 5 or 6.

I read all of the FAQ's on 3Ware's web page and saw nothing there except
to upgrade to the latest drivers and firmware which I did.

Is this the performace I should expect or am I doing something wrong.
Any help is appreciated.
