>From Windows 95 to XP, I'd been able to edit file associations at
Windows Exploer->Tools->Folder Options->File Associations. Well, at
least I could, even though the dialog size is fixed, unresizable, very
small and have to scroll very often to do multiple editing.

But under Windows Vista, they have dumbed it down. I can only choose
default programs for certain extensions. I can't delete extensions or
add other commands like Edit or Print. I don't knowy why Microsoft did
so but what are you gonna do, they are the boss.

So, is there any good 3rd party program (freeware if possible) to this
job? Even under Windows XP, the association editing with the default
Windows interface is so inconvenient. I tried to search the internet by
myslef but I couldn't find a good one. All I found were an old app that
was written with Visual Basic 5.0 and another one that didn't provide
good editing feature.

Thank you.

For Vista ask in a Vista newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
