Hi,
Out of the blue I have started getting the error message
in the device manager "The device cannot start (Code
10)". This is on my betwork adaptor. I have uninstalled
it reinstalled, installed updates drivers, reformatted
with SP2, SP1, and no SP. After reformatting it may
work a day or 2 but then I get the error again. I need
this connection for my network so I can complete college.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Garry

Try a different network adapter.

Easier said than done on a laptop. They are more expensive and more
difficult to set up than a desktop PCI Card. Anyways, is this onboard
or is it PCMCIA? If PCMCIA, have you tried a different slot, different
chipset drivers, etc.? If onboard, have you made sure everything is set
up right in the BIOS? It is odd that after doing a clean install, it
works fine, but then stops working again. It leads me to ask how is the
heat in your laptop? They are designed to sustain very high
temperatures, but you may be experiencing problems with this.
