it really does no good to make a bootable CD with the OLD XP when you have
updated it soooo many times.
you did not say if SP2 is included in your OS....so it makes more sense to
make a bootable slipstreamed version where all of the updates would be
included...that is the ones up to that point in time.
For my Laptop I used Acronis True Image and an external drive.I imaged the
laptops drive to the external drive,created an Acronis Emergency Boot
CD..which lets me boot without an OS.From this Boot I can restore the image
back to the System partition.By recreating the image every so often I keep
it up to date.Acronis is able to image a partion/drive to a CD/DVD/HD...it
will span CD's.
