I'm building a new AM2 micro ATX box with an Asus M2NPV-VM, Antec Minuet 300
case (300W ps), Seagate SATA2 250GB, generic DVD drive, and an Athlon 64x2
3800+...the 89W version. All parts on order and due to be delivered next
week. Question: Should I have tracked down the Athlon 35W version instead?
(I'm not so concerned about power as I am about possible overheating.)
Thanks all.

For it to be that low power consumption, it must be a far lower speed
CPU.

I suspect relative availability will be low and price high for the 35W
version. If it were me, I'd probably pay a $50 premium for the lower-power
CPU. There could be a lot of savings in fans and noise...
