How do I find out which Vista program I have - 32 or 64 bit?

Hi,

Click start, type 'control system' and hit <enter>. The system type line
will indicate if it is 64-bit.

Press the Windows Key + Pause Break key at the top you will see the platform
either 32 or 64 bit.

there is no Pause Break key to press

The key might be doubled up on some other function key....but I have a
standard MS keyboard, and my break/pause key is to the right of the Print
screen key.

A work around is

Press the Windows Key + E to open Windows Explorer, then right click "My
Computer" and select "Properties. This is the Windows XP method; I assume
it is the same in Vista.

Alternatively, right click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop and select
"Properties".

If you don't know the answer, you have the 32 bit version. Seriously, the
64 bit version of any Windows operating system is still a specialty version
that is not particularly suitable for most desktop and notebook
applications. You don't really need to know which version you have unless
you need to install hardware drivers or legacy software; in which case you
really shouldn't be using the 64 bit version B^)

'Rick Rogers' gave you an apt reply (his answer means you left click on the
'Start' button and type [system control] in the 'Search' slot at the bottom
of the 'Menu' (without the brackets) and press ENTER.
