any way I can download a program to rectify it or have I just wasted 34.99
on splinter cell pandora tomorrow!!

As far as I know every monitor in the last 10 years at least support 32 bit
colour (all of mine do anyway).

Certainly if you're system to capable of running Pandora Tomorrow it's got a
monitor that can run at 32 bit.

Few things to try:

Set your desktop colour depth to 32 bit (it may simply be refusing to run
because it needs the desktop to be in 32 bit).

To do this right click and empty area of your desktop, a menu should pop up
if you click on properties, the 'Display Properties' window will appear,
click on the settings tab at the top and change colour quality to 32 bit.

IF for some reason the screen does go blank, or the monitor reports it's out
of range (or anything along those lines) waiting 15 seconds and the screen
should go back to it's previous setting.

Your graphics drivers may also be out of date.

On the same settings page, it should report your graphics card, along the
lines of

Flatron 795FT Plus/Super on Radeon 9800 Pro for example, the last bit there
is your graphics card, Radeon is manufactured by ATi (www.ati.com) if it
says GeForce it's an nVidia card (www.nvidia.com) if it's anything else post
back.

Anyway going to the respective manufacture site and downloading the latest
drivers for your card, may also sort the problem out.

Also might be worth checking the Pandora Tomorrow readme file.

Unfortunately it looks like you'll need a new graphics card to be able to
play, integrated graphics chips aren't gamer friendly.

As for returning Splinter Cell, if upgrading is out of the question,
generally a lot of UK (I can't speak for other places) game retailers will
at least exchange it for something else, a good chuck will do refunds too.

You should be able to pick up a graphics card that can run it for around ?40
(60 Euros / 70 USD ish) just make sure the rest of your system is up to the
task as well though.

It means your graphics system doesn't meet the requirements of the game, so
you've got two choices: Give the game to someone who can use it, or upgrade
your graphics card.
