I have Windows XP on my S10 netbook. How do I determine whether it's 32 bit
or 64 bit?

Thanks much

This has nothing to do with Word, but Control Panel > System should tell you
the Windows version.

Most Netbooks have processors - such as the Intel Atom - that only operate
in 32-bit. I doubt your Netbook is 64-bit. There's no 64-bit version of
Office (yet) anyway.
