30 sec delay opening documents

hello

i hope someone will help me

the computer im useing has windows 2000 pro,
i just recently had a major attack of spam.
i ran the spybot and i uninstalled all the programs.

but now the computer is incredibly slow opening any word
or files i have on my computer, and it only delays when i
try to double click the file to open it to the program
needed to open it.

however if i open the program then open the file it opens
fast.

any clues
please help
this totaly slows the whole office down to have to open
files thru the program.
