Hi there,

Just setting up Outlook 2003 on a new PC while I still have the old Outlook
2000 on the soon to be retired PC...

When I open Outlook 2003 on the new PC along with what I expect to see under
the Personal Folders I get two more entries entitled Personal Folders...

If I expand them up I see the same folder structure as I see in the first,
already expanded Personal Folder i.e Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk
E-mail, Outbox, Sent Items & Search Folders.

I am unable to select Close Personal Folders from the right button context
menu to remove them.

If I receive for example 2 emails which Outlook decides are Junk then not
only do they get put into the usual Junk Mail folder at the top of the pile
but I get identical copies in each of the Junk Mail folders in each of the 2
other Personal Folders below the main one.

I have tried deleting the outlook.pst & extend.dat from Documents &
Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

I have also deleted outcmd.cat Outlook.xml and Outlook.srs from Documents &
Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook but when I restart Outlook
then I still have 3 copies of Personal Folders...

What have I missed here and how do I cure it please?

Thanks & regards,
-pp-

You left out the part on how you have moved your data from one computer to
the other. Sounds like you've overwritten pst-files in the process and
thereby corrupted your mail profile. Recreate it and restore the data
properly.

See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

Try to use the PST Ghostbuster tool. If the Close button is disabled, please
read the instructions first. You can download PST Ghostbuster here:
